Due to an increased demand for sign language interpreters for AA meetings, clients requests for extreme anonymity, and the communities desire to provide services please see http://www.austinaa.org/ to find sign language interpreted meetings. Also, if there is a meeting on our schedule where you would like to have an ASL interpreter present, call 512.448.9017 and ask for Clint Ritter. They will check with local providers, and do their best to make your request become a reality.

Austin Deaf and Hard of Hearing Fest 2008

Volunteer Recruitment
Travis County Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will have their second biennial Deaf and Hard of Hearing Festival on November 8, 2008, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We had a great response two years ago and want this year’s event to be even bigger. Any of you who would like to be an exhibitor, entertainer, or vendor; please contact Lynette Fant, Lynette.Fant@co.travis.tx.us or Tammie Parker, Tammie.Parker@co.travis.tx.us or call the TCSDHH office.
Booths will be free of charge. We want to encourage any and all people who serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities to be present. We also encourage Deaf and Hard of Hearing craftsmen, visual and performing artist to participate.
November will be here before you know it. Please contact us as soon as possible.
Additional needs: Juggler, Magician, Balloon Artist, Face Painter, and general volunteers for event areas.

Project Lifesaver: Travis County
Project Lifesaver is an internationally recognized program designed by law enforcement for law enforcement, that assists bringing lost individuals home.
For those individuals with Alzheimer's dementia, and other related illnesses, wandering can be a daily danger and Project Lifesaver is a partnership between their caregivers and law enforcement with the goal of locating them quickly.
